MSU LON-CAPA Instance
The MSU instance of the LON-CAPA course management system is supported by Gerd Kortemeyer, associate professor in the Lyman Briggs College and one of the creators of LON-CAPA, and his team and the infrastructure hosted by the Department of Physics and Astronomy. LON-CAPA has particular strengths for key aspects of instruction. We encourage faculty with a potential interest in using LON-CAPA to contact Professor Kortemeyer to learn more about it.
Teaching and Learning Environment (TLE) Funding Info
"Teaching and Learning Environment" funds originated in FY1994-95 as a special line of funding in MSU's annual appropriation from the State of Michigan; the funding later became a part of MSU's base appropriation, but is still administered in accordance with the original intentions and design for the funding. The funding’s intent is to provide recurring funding for non-recurring strategic uses to enhance the teaching and learning environment at MSU.
The TLE funding cycle is annual. Requests are made from the level of colleges (deans) and academic support units (directors).
